How to choose a golf rangefinder

By VyKure · October 2026

Seven things to check before you buy, so you get the features you will actually use.

1. Range and accuracy

Look for a range that covers your needs and a stated accuracy. The VyKure measures 3 to 1200 yards with ±0.5 yard accuracy.

2. Magnification and display

7X magnification and a clear LCD make targets easier to see and read.

3. Slope with an off switch

Slope helps on hills, but you need to turn it off for tournaments that ban it.

4. Flag lock

Flag lock picks the pin out from the background. Vibration confirms the lock.

5. Battery

A rechargeable battery saves money. The VyKure charges over USB in about 1.5 to 2 hours.

6. Weather rating

An IP54 rating protects against rain, fog and dust.

7. Carry and mount

A magnetic strip, case and carabiner make it easy to carry and grab.
